Interesting Mary Casanova Info.

I just googled "Mary Casanova Jess Girl of the Year" and saw that she is slated to do a book signing for this title on December 10th!!

OMG!!! Could this mean that they will be releasing Jess as soon as they retire Marisol??? Will we know what Jess will look like by December 10th??? Please, somebody go to the booksigning and look at the cover of that book!!! LOL!

Hmm. It does sound like the book may be out by then.

This seems very odd to me. It's surprising they would release the new one before Marisol "sells out." Yes, we all know she will be gone before then, but it still seems odd to me. Even more odd is releasing her *so* close to Christmas. You'd have to pay rush shipping to get her to you, and there'd probably be so many orders you wouldn't even be guaranteed. And people are going to have already bought their Christmas gifts.

...Who knows. Surely if there's a book signing, we'll be able to find pictures somewhere, even if no one here attends.

Maybe they plan on releasing the book before the doll? I hope they do, then I can read the book to decide if I want her. I know most people just get the book with the doll, but I think this would promote reading the book.

It also may be a club member preview/release party.

If they allow the club members to see a month ahead of time this means the public release would be about January 10th.

I also think that this might be a preview party. I think a lot of parents would be pretty upset if they'd bought all their AG gifts ahead of time, and then wham! Their daughter wants something completely different, just 15 days before Christmas.

The preview party idea seems to make sense. I can't remember for sure, but it seems to me that Marisol's book didn't come out until she did (the Monday following Christmas). I am very curious to see what she looks like since my older daughter's name is Jessica [img]wink.gif[/img] (and she is pretty into digging around in the dirt too!).

edited to add: if it is a preview party then it seems like it is for people living close to where the author resides rather than for club members. Mary Casanova is listed as living "on the Minnesota-Canadian" border, and the bookstore where the signing is to be held is in Minnesota.
